School Pastors are volunteers who work around schools to provide friendship, safety and care through listening & helping. They have been operating in island schools since 2012. School Pastors give a positive adult presence in uniformed patrols at lunchtimes throughout the year.
They also attend at key times in the school calendar such as “Head On” and Transition Days, and on special request from the schools to provide reassurance. They have recently expanded their work to include assemblies, drop-ins, group & 1:1 mentoring. They currently attend Medina College, Carisbrooke College and Ryde Academy.
The Isle of Wight Street Pastors charity runs School Pastors on the Island alongside the Street Pastors scheme. Both are part of a national network overseen by the Ascension Trust. School Pastors is managed by a dedicated coordinator, Sally Murphy. You can contact Sally on 07879 776281 or via email using the form here.
